What We Do

Two nights a week we take our converted ambulance to Fairfield Street which is in the middle of the red light district and we give out hot drinks, sandwiches, clothes and toiletries. We are out on Wednesday from 5-30 till 7pm and Saturday from 9-00 till 11pm. Each night we have a time of worship and then we preach the Word of God. We see this as simply being Church on the street. Through the week we try to meet up with some of the guys and we spend some quality one to one time with them over lunch.
We find that the guys are really touched by this and we think it is an important part of the ministry as it helps to build up good relationships. We do many prison and hospital visits and we try to support those who are able to find accommodation. Over the years we have been able to paint and decorate many flats for those rehoused. We spent a full week clearing someones flat due to their hauding addiction. Thankfully this prevented them from being evicted. Due to the harvest we collect from many local schools and churches, we are able to hand out food parcels throughout the months of October and November.
Over the years we have gone on mini bus trips in the summer. We have enjoyed trips to see the Blackpool lights and eat fish and chips on the beach. We have been to North Wales and we also went on a four day camping holiday to a Christian conference. We have run Alpha, and, Christianity Explored course and we presently run a weekly bible study where we have between 8 to 10 people attending regularly.
